In both prayer and
service we are accepted only through the merits of Christ, for we deserve no
good thing from Him.

given to guide you to Heaven?
God has given us His
word, the Holy Bible to read and study. He has also appointed ministers to
assist us in the understanding of Scripture. Also there are special signs, which
remind us of His grace and mercy.

special signs you speak of?
There are two, that
is, Water Baptism and the Lord's Supper.
54. What is Water
Baptism?
It is being fully
immersed in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

55. What does it
symbolise?
It is a symbol that
speaks of the fact that we have been cleansed from our sin, made new creatures
in Christ, and have decided to be His disciples.
1 Peter 3:21. 2 Corinthians 5:17.
56. Why must we be
baptised in the name of the Father?
Because God the Father
sent His only begotten Son into this world to die on the cross for our sins, and
all who believe in Him are truly the children of God.
John 3:16. 1 John 3:16.
57. Why must we be
baptised in the name of the Son of God?
Because Jesus Christ
is the only Way, Truth, and Life, and no one can come to the Father except
through Him.

58. Why must we be
baptised in the name of the Holy Spirit?
Because the Holy
Spirit draws sinners to Christ, and it is He that gives us the power to live for
God and endure to the end.

59. What is
expected of you after you are baptised?
I must live the way
God expects me to. I must obey Him and His word, and be willing to be lead by
His Holy Spirit.

60. What is the
Lord's Supper?
It is the eating of
bread and drinking of wine in remembrance of the death of our Lord Jesus Christ.
