The Mansion Builder - John 14:1-14
We need to put our trust in the Mansion Builder.
No fear, anxiety, worry about our future.
A Mansion - not a room in a big house!
Note: Some new translations read, In my Father's house there are many rooms. The
translators say that you cannot have many mansions in a house. Fools! Have we
not heard of the House of David, the House of Tudor, or the House Medici? House
here means Kingdom. The word dom is used in domesticate. In the Father's Kingdom
there are many mansions!
There is room for all.
Creation took six days - it is a wonderful place.
Your mansion has taken 2,000 years - what will it be like!!!
The Master Builder will escort us to our mansions.
We will be where Jesus is.
If Jesus is not there, then it will not be Heaven.
How do we get there?
a) Follow the Way.
b) Live by the Truth.
c) Grow in the Life.
Faith in Jesus is the key to your mansion.
Forget the new keys ... new revelations.
How should we live today?
Follow the Master Builder.
a) Believe in Him.
b) Believe that the greater works are possible.
The Promise of the Holy Spirit - John 14:15-31
A true relationship with God must include the Holy Spirit.
He stays with believers throughout life.
His presence is an absolute must for Christian living.
This means that the indwelling is for everyday life.
Jesus promised that we would never be left alone (:18)
* We are not orphans.
* We are His Children.
* The promise of the Spirit remains true until the second
coming.
We are blessed with the presence of God in our lives (:21).
Why have we been given the Holy Spirit?
* For showing off spiritual power?
* For claiming to be able to speak in tongues?
* To command Satan out of a city / country?
We have be given the Spirit so that can manifest Himself to the world through us
(:22)
This is true for individual believers as well as the church as a whole.
This is where so many of us fail God.
We fail to truly represent Christ in this world.
Reason: We do not really have the Holy Spirit's power in our lives.
The Holy Spirit wants to use each one of use.
He wants to empower us for service.
He wants to give us God's peace.
Who can receive the power of the Holy Spirit?
* Those who love Christ (:15)
* Those who are obedient to His word (:21, 23)
* Those who are willing to be taught (:26)
* Those who really believe (29)
