The Seven Trumpets (part 2) - Revelation 9:1-21
Trumpet 5
This fallen star is personified.
Notice that "he" is given the key that unlocks the Bottomless Pit.
The Pit (Abyss) contains the very worst of demonic spirits.
They have been there since the flood (see 2 Peter 2:4 & 1 Peter 3:19-20).
The erupting evil has the appearance of volcanic ash, blocking out the sun.
These demons look like locusts, but with a difference.
They will not harm vegetation but mankind.
These locusts have a sting in their tails.
Only the 144,000 (and true believers?) will not be affected by the demons.
They had the power of death, but are commanded not to use it.
They will torment man for five months.
The severe pain caused by the sting will have men wishing for death.
No one will be able to commit suicide during this time.
Death flees from them - they have to endure the torment.
Their Appearance:
a) Shaped like horses with armoured plating.
b) Crown of gold upon their heads.
c) Human-like faces.
d) Long hair like a woman.
e) Teeth as long and sharp as a lion.
f) Wore breastplates.
g) Wings that sounded like chariots (mechanical sound?).
h) Tails looked like scorpion's stings.
These demonic creatures are ruled by another fallen angel.
His name is Apollyon and Abaddon.
He is not Satan since they all come from the Pit.
They are not helicopters but some order of demonic spirits.
Two more trumpets - more woes to come!
Trumpet 6
John hears a voice calling from the golden altar of incense.
An angel is commanded to go and release the four bound angels.
River Euphrates is near Babylon / Iraq.
God will use Iraq to bring judgement on the world in last days.
This is for a very specific time in future history.
Keep an eye on Iraq!
These four angels bring with them 200 million demonic spirits.
They may possess the armies of the world government to war against God.
They will slay a third of the world's population (nuclear / bio-chemical war?).
This army, at its root, is not human.
Their horses have lion's heads.
Smoke, fire and brimstone issue from their mouths.
Does mankind repent? Of course not!
They persist in murder, witchcraft, perversion, and theft.
The very things prevalent in society today.
They will have lost all sense of right and wrong.
